These are the two sketches for my visual informational project. Out of the three options, I finally narrowed it down to two options which are "How police's radar gun works" and "How to dougie"

And these are the sketches.......not perfect yet cos I can't draw but I'll definitely going to make something interesting in Illustrator.

Project #2 Pre-eliminary critique

Project Statement for Project #2

The Project Statement
1. Background
This type-based illustration is about a woman named Audrey Kathleen Ruston or as we all know as Audrey Hepburn. She was born in Belgium on 4th May 1929. She is a British actress, humanitarian and a fashion icon. Breakfast at Tiffany’s was the movie that made her name big. She died in Switzerland on 20th January 1993 because of abdominal pain.

2. Target Audiences
My target audiences for this project are the fans of Audrey Hepburn. The one who has been following since the first movie she made up until she died. Young adult range in age of 18-35 years old not limited to men. It could also be someone who appreciates vintage fashion and vintage movies.

3. Objectives
After my audience sees this project, I want them to never forget about Audrey Hepburn and will always appreciate her works.

4. Obstacles
For some people, they may or may not know Audrey Hepburn because she was active long ago and she died pretty young. So this project may or may not look appealing to them.

5. Key Benefit
Key benefit of doing this project is to get Audrey Hepburn known over all ages. Some of the old people may know her because she was active in their era, but some of the youngster may not know her so by this project, hopefully they would recognize her and want to actually explore her past work.

6. Support Statements/ Reasons Why
The reason why the key benefit outweighs the obstacles is because beside the pretty look that Audrey Hepburn has, she is actually a very genuine person. She’s an ambassador for Unicef and she’s truly a role model for girls or women any ages.

7. Tone
The feeling of communication should be light, classy and sophisticated just like Audrey.

8. Media
Type based illustrator could be used in posters, flyers, website or even on a printed t-shirts.

This is just some of the inspiration that I get from all the talented artists and now I have to find some reference photos for my type-based illustration.

Project #1: Editoral Illustration Project Statement

The Project Statement
1. Background
This editorial article is about the suicide rate that keeps on increasing in Europe because of financial crisis. I chose this article because this article could relate so much for the society outside Europe.

2. Target Audiences
My target audiences for this article are middle class around the age of 25-50. It is mainly for working people that has struggle with financial crisis and to those who concerned about world’s finance.

3. Objectives
After reading this article I want my audience to have an eye opening about suicidal thoughts. Hopefully they will get the message that suicidal is not the only way to end financial crisis. Instead of whining and thinking a way of suicidal, they better get on their feet and start fighting financial crisis.

4. Obstacles
The obstacle that I encounter while sketching the editorial is that sometimes if we think of suicide we will automatically have guns, knife, blood and rope in mind. I realize that Suicidal is a scary thing because blood flowing and guns usually depict it. I don’t want my sketches to look scary or too violent but I also want the audience to get the message out of it. So my obstacle is between how to depict a suicidal images without looking too violent and yet still deliver the message to the audience.

5. Key Benefit
One benefit the audience will experience upon reading the objectives will be that they should gain the eye opening about how precious their life is and they shouldn’t end their life because of financial crisis. Hopefully to those people who are aware of it could help to decrease the rate of suicidal not only in Europe but in the whole world.

6. Support Statements/ Reasons Why
The reason why the key benefit outweighs the obstacles is because I want my audience to know that death is final thing. It’s like a one-chance type of deal. Once you committed to it, there are no turning back. The reason I am promoting it because life is a gift and is full of choices. One door of opportunity may shut in front of you but if you keep on standing, the other door may open and give you a lot more opportunity.

7. Tone
My feeling of communication should be light and yet should give a little bit of tone of authoritative. Too light isn’t good too and a bit too emotional is not good either. I want it to be relaxed and not pushy.

8. Media
This illustration will appear online accompany to the article and also printed on a brochure or flyer about decreasing suicidal rate (if there is one)
